Hometown Fun {Discovery Museum}

Three years since our first and only visit to the Discovery Museum we decided today was the day to take the kids for some indoor fun.  I must say that with all our fun in the sun this place had the kids talking up a storm and excited about each and every exhibit they got to experience - and that's saying a lot!!  The boys seem to have a genuine interest in participating in activities that allow them to think and be creative.

The pipsqueaks ran through the "Nevada Stories" exhibit touching and trying everything they could get their hands on.  They were extremely fascinated by the giant tire and the mine.  I think the "Inside Out" exhibit was the biggest hit as far as the themed rooms go.  The kids looked at a human heart, took memory quizzes, tested their vision and got to play with flashlights.  Ethan dazzled us with his catapulting skills when he built a tower that was indestructible no matter how hard he tried to knock it down!  Perhaps, however, the most memorable part of the day for Ethan and Carter was climbing into the clouds and touching the ceiling.  They would have lived in that climbing structure if we would have allowed it.  Daxton was thrilled to splash around in the model lake & river.  He did not want any other kid splashing in his zone or playing with his boats.

If you're visiting the Reno area or just need a fun indoor thing for the kiddos to do, the Discovery Museum should be on your list.  The kids learned a lot while they played.  They could hardly contain their excitement and asked 100 times when we can go back!  I mean, what could be a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than with these cuties playing up in the clouds?!
